Parachuting Bunny | Easter Bunny Art Project

How DO those bunnies get into backyards and homes everywhere? Santa has a sleigh, but it’s never been quite clear how the Easter Bunny is supposed to deliver the eggs. Well, I think I came up with the answer – parachutes! And kids will love designing their own background for just where they are landing in this Easter Bunny Art Project.

Don’t celebrate Easter, or use baskets? Omit the eggs and enjoy the hilarity of a bunny flating through the air anyway!

Here’s how to create a bunny below. Don’t forget to download your free bunny drawing guide by clicking the banner at the end of this post.

What you’ll need:

    • 9×12 white sulphite or mixed-media paper

    • Black Sharpie

    • Crayons, markers, colored pencils, or watercolors

Here’s how to do it:

Drawing the bunny

Use a black Sharpie or crayon to draw the bunny, starting with the ears.

Connect the ears with some funky hair.

Draw the upper portion of the head.

Make the lower portion of the head round out for some chubby bunny cheeks. Add a nose, mouth, eyes, and some whiskers.

Draw two smaller ovals for the front feet, tilted out to the sides. Add small, short lines at the bottom to divide the toes.

Draw two larger ovals for the back feet, also tilted outward. Add circles for the pads of the feet.

Connect the head and feet to finish the body. Use a straight line or a wobbly line for fluffier fur. Make the bunny as fluffy as you’d like!

You might also want to add an oval in the center for a bunny belly.

Add a tail.

Adding the parachute

Draw a curved line for the top of the parachute. This curved line can be drawn over the bunny, or at an angle from corner to corner.

Draw a scalloped line underneath the first, in a series of shallow U-shapes. Connect the parachute to the bunny with straight lines. Decorate the parachute.

Finishing up

Draw a scene for the parachuting bunny, and add eggs if you’d like.

Use crayons, colored pencils, markers, or watercolors to add color!
