A World Cup Art Project for Kids That Will Have You Screaming GOOOOOOAL!
Have you seen the official soccer ball for the 2022 World Cup? The Adidas ball is named Al Rihla which means “the journey.” Al Rihla is the inspiration for our World Cup art project for kids because it is so beautiful and colorful!
This ball is a far cry from the standard black and white balls we normally see! Speaking of those black and white balls, did you know they added the black pentagons in the 1970s to help TV viewers track the ball? Thank you Jeopardy for that fun fact!
Anyway, I thought this ball could be a work of art! And then, wouldn’t it be fun to design a ball in the style of a favorite artist?

This one is easy – just print and design using the soccer ball as your canvas! You can use markers, crayons, colored pencils – whatever you like.
Just think of your favorite artist or art work and add it into the white spaces in the ball. If you are stuck for ideas, then see the list of artists below the ball in the template for inspiration.
As you can see, we scored with our artist inspired soccer balls!
